here's a few of our snaps of our mini break in jimbaran if you'd like to see?

lounging by the ocean beach pool was the most fun I've ever had doing nothing. it felt crazy luxurious to do this. like sitting in a postcard. or a pinterest board.

there are pools everywhere at ayana and this one was a two level affair in the centre of the resort. behind the waterfall were aquariums.

the mister went surfing at uluwatu most mornings. one day I went with him and lounged by the pool at blue point. if I used my zoom lens I could just see him surfing down below.

the kids pool at ayana made me wish our kiddos were there! I think they would have loved it. there was also a sheltered kids club with activities, and an outdoor play area with equipment.

cute tourists taking selfies at uluwatu. tiny specs of surfers in the water.

the rock bar. resort guests can wind their way down to the rock bar via pretty rock steps and the ocean beach pool but the other way down is by open glass elevator. fancy.

snack service at the ocean beach pool. skinny fries, I love you.

through the day the bar area around the rock bar was empty and was all very lovely and peaceful. this photo was taken at early evening when the music was playing and drinks were flowing.

kisik bar and grill restaurant was our fave eating place for sure. there's quite the choice for dining through the whole resort but picking our own fresh seafood to be grilled and slathered with delicious balinese sauce was amazing. all meals were accompanied by the kisik balinese bouillabaisse (just yum.) and a gado-gado appetiser.

have you been to bali? do you have any must-go spots you'd like to share? I know ubud is a fave for one of my closest pals. maybe you've been with your kids? I'd love to hear!

  1. Your photos are just too gorgeous! How beautiful is that location. I love Indonesia. Travelled over to Bali twice for holidays and lived in Indonesia for 18 months for my husbands work. Really is an eye opener living among the locals, much nicer to chill at a resort and explore the surroundings as opposed to living there but still an amazing experience :) Maria x
