Are you planning to see DreamWorks Animation's Madagscar 3: Europe's Most Wanted? We were invited along to a fun blogger's screening and it was a lovely chance to have a ma and sons date, just myself and the two biggies.
about the film
The old gang, Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippo and Melman the giraffe concoct a scheme to leave Africa and get back to their beloved zoo in Central Park, New York via a travelling European Circus. Of course right from the outset things don't go according to plan and we see the friends on the run from animal controller Captain Chantel DuBois (a Cruella de Vil type voiced by Frances McDormand) against a backdrop of iconic European sights (in 3D!).
at the movies...
1. The teen and I (snapped by the preschooler) on the train en route to the cinema. So 15 years-old right? 2. Post-movie activities in Gold Class. The preschooler is in the background getting his face painted. 3. Vox pops after the film. 4. The kiddos getting their 3D glasses on.
My absolute favourite part of the whole experience was that once we were all snuggled into the plush oversize armchairs (Event Cinemas Gold Class) with lunch of our choice -- nachos for the teen, fish 'n' chips for the preschooler and spring rolls for me -- the preschooler leaned over to me and said, "This is just like movie night at home!" How adorable is that? I love that he associates fun movies with family time. Paramount captured some of our day here:
Of course the preschooler and I sang 'Circus Afro' for the rest of the day, and maybe part of the next. It didn't annoy the teen at all ;) If you fancy making a day of it too you might like to book Family Gold Class tickets at Event Cinemas and plan your circus training party at Circus Arts.

I would bring my entourage of 3,9,11 and 2x13 because we love the movies and Madagascar but it usually costs us a small ransom! The chorus of Circus Afro in the car going home would make it extra special, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI'd bring along my almost 3 year old..to take her to her first movie EVER by introducing her to the world of Alex, Melman and Gloria.
ReplyDeleteIt goes without saying that I'd be taking my young son, a Madagascar fanatic, along with me to see the movie, but if I didn't also invite Hubby I'd probably return home to find the house door locks changed as he's the biggest 'kid' in the family!!

I would take my two girls because they keep talking and talking about the new Madagascar movie nearly every other day. "When is it coming", "how many sleeps" and so on.

As a parent I love seeing my kids enjoy good quality movies and Madagascar is one of those lovely feel good movies where adults and kids can share the joy and laughter and come out of it feeling happy.
Kind Regards
Kim Davis

ReplyDeleteLucyrobinson@y7mail.com
I would take my two girls. Miss 5 would absolutely love it, she is a huge Madagascar fan and has assigned us all characters from the movie... this may be due to our last name sounding similiar to Zebra! We have a daddy zebra, mummy hippo (lucky me lol), she is the lion and her little sister is the giraffe. Miss 3 does enjoy the franchise as well but isn't a sit down and watch a full movie type of child so the husband may be dragged along as well to help out :)
