preschooler : playing pretend

So, the preschooler watched 'Finding Nemo' for the first time...

"This is Nemo and his dad. They are having a Christmas party. He (the cleaner prawn on the left) cleaned their anemone for them."

 And remember P. Sherman from 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney? The fish-stealing dentist diver?

Happy Monday.

{diver 'helmet' from a buzz lightyear suit. diver 'wetsuit' from a batman suit. diver 'goggles' rigged up with marker pen 'snorkel' by preschooler. 'diving cylinder' made from a teddy carrier. undies worn outside his clothes, preschooler's own.}

p.s Does your wee one come up with crazy fun get-ups too? I'd love to hear!

  1. Are you kidding me? My eldest used to run to nursery every day donning a pair of goggles and calling himself goggle-man. Number two is equally eccentric. He dresses up as a dr by putting an elefun net on his head and calls himself dr fingles. No idea where he got that one from but I love their kookiness!
    Great drawing by the way.
    Visiting via instagram. I love taking a peek at other people's spaces.

  4. Oh yeah, my 2 1/2 year old loves coming up with creative little get-ups...he can often be found walking around the house with kitchen utensils sticking out of his belt, a superhero mask on his head, and his toy guitar around his neck. It's hilarious! ;)

  5. That is so incredibly cute - I love the picture he drew especially. Quite a talent there!
    My little one is too little for make believe but I certainly bossed around my younger siblings in all sorts of made up plays or re-enactments when young - my grandmother reminded me the other day of how I used to drill them in the 'So Long, Farewell' routine from Sound of Music and that I banned my littlest sister from being Greta and used a teddy instead - harsh!
