one for me please : sarah jane embroidery

In this life I have not been blessed with traditional womanly skills such as sewing, cooking and the like, but I love simple and quirky embroideries and hold out hope that perhaps embroidery could be a gateway skill to harder things... like say, quilting. What do you think? ;)

Either way, I think these embroidery patterns by Sarah Jane Studios are the sweetest. Wouldn't they be the  perfect gift for a crafty mama-to-be?

Do you embroider? Any tips? I'd love to hear!

  1. I love them! I even bought the hoops, but I'm no good with embroidery myself!

  2. Oh I love these! Can't wait to purchase. Embroidery is one of the most forgiving crafts! If you mess up you can just cut your string and undo. I've been doing it since my grandma taught me as a little girl and it's so relaxing. You should definitely give it a shot. There are tons of You Tube videos on different stitches which I think are better than the visuals in books. This is the last thing I embroidered:

    1. Dina, that is so cool! and I love, love, love that it turned out to be glow in the dark embroidery thread. I did not know that even existed.
