room for baby : snow luxe

posted on: Monday, August 8, 2011

Natural light floods little Pearson's ivory room.

Pearson's mum, Amy, turned the gold frame around the mirror into a snow white border with artfully applied white lacquer.

vibe
Grown-up glam. Amy from House of Wentworth designed this pristine space for her daughter.

who lives here?
Pearson, 2 years-old in Dallas, Texas, USA.

d├ęcor
The white linen curtain panels were from West Elm and the custom Roman shades with black-out liner were by Hampton Bay from Home Depot. The chenille rug was from the Pottery Barn, the sheepskin rug was from Costco and the mirror was purchased years ago from Kirkland’s Home. Originally gold, Amy had it lacquered in a bright white. The chandelier was from Be-dazzled and the monogram above the changing table was from Sweet Tooth Stationary.

materials
Crown molding from Lowes was added to match the rest of the house. The walls were painted in Pratt & Lambert Ancestral White and the trim was painted in Benjamin Moore’s White Dove.

furniture
The Italian Pali cot was purchased second hand and the mirrored dresser was from Horchow. Amy had her grandmother’s tufted chair recovered in a soft off-white velvet and the shelving was from Ballard Designs. "It will fit perfectly in her closet when I need to move it… and it stacks!" Amy pointed out.

diy
Amy added crown moulding and applied some DIY to the mirror with white lacquer. She also added a medallion above the chandelier.

best buys
Amy purchased many things on sale. The mirrored dresser, the white linen panels, the Roman shades and the storage units with wicker drawers.

top tip
Amy says, "Start early and wait for the sales! If you know what you want, the major stores will have a sale once a year in categories like rugs and drapery."

Thank you Amy for sharing Pearson's space with baby space!

  4. So lovely, it will last a long time with that styling & tones, a teenager would enjoy it too, or a guest bedroom, just classicly designed & all round beautiful. Love Posie
