fun stuff : library outing

posted on: Friday, October 1, 2010

The first time I took the Baby Space toddler to the library he was a one-year-old. I'd decided it would be fun to start going to the under-twos singing and story time mornings. Turned out I was not alone in this plan. There was a queue. Or rather there had been a queue.

The librarian warned me to get there early next time. Before-the-library-opens kind of early. She also warned me that people would try to push in.

What? Mums and dads with bubs in prams will push in to gain entry into singing and story time? Uh, yes. Yes they will. I saw it with my own beady eyes. BUT after the first session, the toddler was hooked. He LOVED these mornings. I started to understand the pushing.

To this day when we walk past the library he screams, "LIBRARY! Can we do singing?" Remember how I said he was a one-year-old when we went?

This weekend we'll stick to reading and borrowing. Simple and fun. How about you? Are you or your little ones library fiends?

Today we also announce the winner of the awesome KLT:works mobile giveaway. The lucky recipient of the All About Birds mobile is Kinsandme. Congratulations Kinsandme and thanks to everybody that entered!

And please excuse my absence for the next couple of weeks -- I'll be off doing my end of semester Uni assignments and pulling my hair out but I'll have some super lovely guest bloggers popping in -- so stay tuned.

Have a lovely weekend!

  5. Before I returned to work the little person and I went to similar sessions at our local library. We had to sit at the side because he was the only one who danced to all the singing.
    Good luck with your assignments.
