Fresh, nautical and a wee bit dreamy. Mum, Joanna from A Cup of Jo, gathered together images that inspired her and collaborated with Jenny from Little Green Notebook to realise her vision.
who lives here?
Toby, 3.5 months in New York City, New York, USA.
decor
The eye-catching sailboat mobile above Toby's cot was a present from Joanna's brother and sister who purchased it from The Ark in California. The chocolate spotted cot sheets are from Dwell Studio and the blue light on the dresser is a Dark Tidepool Star Egg Nightlight from J Schatz.
furniture
The cot is a Baby Mod Olivia 3-in-1 in Amber and White from Walmart.

Joanna's collaborator Jenny, transformed plain white blinds into a a dark cloud-patterned window shade and sewed grey and white striped curtains to match. Jenny also collected and arranged the frame wall, made the blue and white striped headboard for the double bed, the yellow skirt for the cot and painted two vintage wooden dressers (one in soft grey, the other - not pictured here - in bright red and white) for Toby's tiny clothes.
baby space fave
The cloud-patterned blackout shade. Cute, practical and stylish. Genius.

Joanna says, "My advice would be to make the nursery comfortable and relaxing for both you and your baby. As a new mom, you spend so much time in the nursery -- including feeding your sweet baby many times in the middle of the night! So it was important to me to have lovely little touches -- like the soft striped headboard that I could lean against while breastfeeding, the cloud window shade which feels so cheery, the family photos so we feel watched over by loved ones even at two in the morning, and the sailboat mobile which reminds me of childhood summers. So, whatever makes you feel calm and happy, work that into the nursery, so it becomes a happy, personal place for you and your baby."
Thanks so much Joanna and Toby for sharing your space with Baby Space!

I follow Joanna's blog (as many people!) and was surprised when I saw her nursery. I was expecting a much more "fancy" room but in fact, but it is simple and sweet. I really love it! It looks so relaxing and peaceful. x
