This blog is supposed to be more about spaces and less about me, however Stacey from Design Addict Mom has given me the honour of this 'super comments award'. Too kind! And as part of the honour I've been asked to answer nine questions about myself. Sooo, if you would rather see more cute rooms skip to the next post. Otherwise get comfy. Here's a bit about me.

1. Why do you blog?
Originally I started this blog because I wanted a place that had all the cool and quirky nurseries and kids spaces in one spot and figured that if I was after a blog like that then maybe other people would like it too. But now part of the reason I blog is because I love engaging with all the the bloggy people! Mum and design bloggers are lovely.

2. What are your 3 best memories?
Hard! I'm going to just pick one. Last Spring I was down at our local beach with the Baby Space man, teen and toddler. It was one of those clear, sunny Sydney afternoons. We were all moseying along around the ocean rock pools beneath this vast blue sky. I'd just found out that a story I had written had made the short list for a little award. Being with my family, in a gorgeous place, feeling validated for my individual passion?! Beautiful.

3. Name 4 of the best fiction books you've read.
Only four?! Sigh. Hard again. Ok, here goes:
Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant by Anne Tyler
The Children's Bach by Helen Garner
The Orchard by Drusilla Modjeska
The Women's Room by Marilyn French

4. What are the 5 best movies ever made?
American Beauty
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The Age of Innocence
The September Issue
When Harry Met Sally

5. Name 5 things you can't live without.
Books
Computer (with Internet of course)
Magazines
Good Chai (NOT a latte. For the love. Not a latte.) or coffee
Camera

...uh actually my family and friends would go at the top of this list (but they are not things, right?)

6. If you could change your name, what would it be?
These days I'm more focused on naming my children than thinking of different names for myself. But I used to spend a lot of time thinking about this. A lot.

7. Tell us a unique and interesting fact about yourself?
Let's say interesting by association - I recently did an interview with Somaly Mam for Frankie magazine. She's an amazingly inspirational woman (if not the most inspirational woman ever) and has a book out that I cannot recommend highly enough. Although I will mention that it's very confronting.

8. If you could have a Freaky Friday experience, who would you change places with?
When I was younger I would have said 'a man' to know what it's like to be of the opposite gender. I'm not so curious about that any more. I'm pretty happy to stay me.

9. What is the best thing about being a woman?
There is no way for this not to sound clich├ęd but - being a mother. Hands down. I've been one for thirteen years now and it's not always fun but I know it's the one thing in my life that really matters (to me). I feel really, really fortunate.

  4. You are the kindest blogger. Such an honour. It was really lovely finding out a bit more about yourself, too. I was nodding along, we share A LOT of things in common besides a first name!!!

I did want to put this out there: who. the. f. designs. these. awards? They are all sooooo very daggy, aren't they! I wonder where they originated from and who thought pandas and kittens and teddy bears were the bees' knees for bloggers.

Well, now, it wouldn't happen on our watch, would it!!

    Thanks again, lovely you.

  10. Aww, love reading all your comments! Thanks you guys :)

For the award recipients all you have to do is answer the same questions as above, if you feel like it, and whenever you're ready. It took me a few weeks to get to it myself!

Stacey - Not at all a pain to answer the questions! And love reading everyone else's answers too :)
