room for kids : nest egg

Four year old Max's favourite thing is the egg chair that he uses as his reading pod.

Clean, gentle and retro. Mum, Shannon from Cuckoo for Coco involved Max in the redecoration of his room and he's had a say in every new purchase.

who lives here?
Max 4.5 in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia.

To find the new items Shannon and Max searched blogs they love and Etsy. Max was allowed to choose five pictures to short list then after several days he settled on the chosen one - 'Apple Papple' from Fine Little Day. The Owl Toy, Sleepy Dog pillow and Dream Big pillow are all from Robin and Mould on Etsy.

Max’s bed and bookshelf were both purchased from Ikea. Shannon searched high and low when looking for a bed and discovered that the cheapest ones were the ones she loved the most. Of the bed Shannon says, "It’s simple, yet modern and very sturdy for a little boy who occasionally mistakes it for a trampoline!"

Max's Birdie cushion on his egg chair is by his talented mum, Shannon. She's also planning to add an origami mobile and a felt artwork plus a reading lamp for the vintage chair beside the bed.

baby space fave
The egg chair! Just like Max. The heart cushion is also a gorgeous touch.

Shannon says, "If they are a little older and it’s a room upgrade you are doing, don’t be afraid to let them get involved in some of the decisions. Max now has a real sense of ownership when it comes to his room, he has been happily declaring to all that HE redecorated it… he's proud as punch!"

  12. At the moment we have no known source for the chair. Shannon bought it from a furniture store in NSW, Australia that was closing down and the store oweners had picked it up (somewhere unknown) overseas. But if anyone knows where to find one please share! If we find a source for the chairs I'll post it for sure.

  17. Choosing the setup of the children's room is a standout amongst the most requesting errands folks face. An era of age contrast makes it extremely troublesome for folks to choose what to purchase for their children's room. This is the reason it is imperative for you to counsel your children before purchasing anything for their room.

  18. Do you have a nest egg? You know, a place you are stashing away money for the future - retirement, down payment on a house, the kids education. That kind of thing. How're you doing?
