amelie's room

Travelling bazaar Mathilda's Market hit Sydney last weekend and the Baby Space toddler and I trotted along for our first visit. We were expecting unique and beautiful wares for wee ones and that's exactly what we found.

the raisin did it

The Raisin Did It has comfy, quirky items in vintage and new fabrics plus items screen printed with original art. They were having a sale when we dropped by (anyone else get excited when they see an overflowing suitcase marked $5?). The toddler took home a screen printed shark jumper, woodland scene t-shirt, screen printed seal plushie and some soft corduroy flares for $50 AUD total. They seem to winding down a bit due to another addition arriving in the family but you can still buy their items online and at made 590 in Newtown in Sydney's Inner West.

little fish creations

Little Fish Creations specialises in bright fluffy tutus but doesn't leave the boys behind. We gleefully nabbed their last natty pin-on tie accessory for $12 AUD (pictured above). The toddler wears it and claims he is 'like a man'.

gifts created

I pounced on Gifts Created just as the market was winding up and bought this cute squeaking owl for the toddler. I was about to buy one of the sweet little apples too and scrambled around in my wallet for change only to discover that - gah! - I had run out of cash. Luckily they have an online store. The apples and pears pictured above are new and not yet on their site, so shoot them an email if you're interested.

paperklip

There were so many awesome crafty goodies, including the paper art and kistch tape from Paperklip, and vintage-inspired treats from amelie's room (top) that I couldn't possibly squeeze them all in to one post. Perhaps I will have to revisit for a Mathilda's Market Part Two? Until then why not check out the real thing - click here for a future market dates in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne and Sydney. Happy shopping!
