When I was a kid I had a couple of pet rocks. We bought them from my favourite part of the dinosaur museum. The gift shop. But it turns out you don't need to take a trip into 'town' to get one of these awesome lil' guys. This is what you need:

A rock. A packet of googly eyes. A bottle of craft glue. Too easy!

Oh, and a paint brush to dab on the glue.
I encouraged the Baby Space toddler to bond with his new creation. "You can give him a name even!" I exclaimed. "So what are you going to call him?" I prompted.
"His name is My Pet Rock Even!" was the enthusiastic reply. I was also told that my practice rock was the mama rock and his was the baby rock and they were best friends.
So many more rocks to bring to life...Have a lovely weekend!

I remember doing this! So much fun! We painted ours crazy colors. I need to bookmark this- I think this will be a great project in about 6 months!

ReplyDeleteSo cute, what a lovely idea my two youngest would enjoy making their own pet rocks.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! And fun. I've never had a pet rock in my life but we sure did see a huge variety of pet crabs in Virginia Beach! Live crabs but their shells were painted and decorated like your pet rocks. It was only on closer inspection when I saw one of the shells move that I noticed there were live crabs living in em! These are a cute project for kids..
