If you're down Sydney-way then you'll know that it's been way colder and rainier than usual. Actually I don't know if this is technically true but it feels true. And as our city is geared towards outdoorsy stuff all this rain can leave a Sydney mum a bit bereft when it comes to kid-friendly weekend activities. I know I would happily sit in my favourite bookstore cafe drinking chai and pouring over second-hand books all weekend but the rest of my family doesn't seem to be able to sit still for that long. Kids! So today is the first of the new Friday fun stuff posts. Every week I'll post about a weekend activity that might inspire you, or maybe (as this blog is not just for mums!) bring back memories of fun things you used to do as a kid. One of my favourite games was making cubbies. Here I am, aged around five, serving tea to my doll. And using a flying saucer as a plate.

Have a lovely weekend!

ReplyDeleteHmm.. drinking chai in a bookstore cafe does sound lovely! ;)
ReplyDeleteI loved doing that too when I was younger! We had stiff sofa cushions and we'd make a fort out of them. Look how adorable you are! What a sweet photo...
ReplyDeletethat is too adorable : ) when I was a kid I used to LOVE to turn our beds into tents and then play make-believe all night. lovely as always!
ReplyDeleteAwww... how adorable are you!? We must be kindred spirits - chai and a stack of books sound perfect on this rainy day. To keep our sanity in the wet weather we often take our little man to Bunnings. They have an indoor play area right next to the cafe... and we get to poke around for supplies for the next DIY adventure.
