The framed original portrait of Keira on the shelves was done by tuesday mourning at Etsy. Mum, Chantale from The Adventures of Skinny Mini Kiki, found the letter K at HomeSense (but hasn't seen it there since). The bright Semikolon stacking boxes can be bought at the Container Store. The Astro Boy and Astro Girl prints above the bed were bought online and the pink daisy wall and night lamps are from Ikea. The wall stickers are all from Nouvelle Images. On the bed, the smaller flower cushion is by Roxy and the pink flower cushion is from Ikea while the cloth doll is an original handmade piece from Sophie & Lili. Chantale nabbed The Linen House paisley bedding on sale at the Quebec department store, Simons.

materials
While Chantale can't remember exactly what paint colour she used for Keira's walls she recommends Pale Trillium #6033-11 from Sico as being a close match. She also suggests Benjamin Moore paints in shades of pale pink such as Marshmallow Bunny, Voile Pink and Romantic Pink.

furniture
The French provincial style furniture is from AP Industries. Chantale loved the finishing and bought the extension to turn the cot set into a double bed.

Chantale cleverly continued the Astro Boy theme by fashioning a matching cushion (on the bed) using an iron-on decal on a plain Ikea cushion. The fairy print on the dresser started life as an image in an old calendar. Chantale painted the frame white and cut matting to fit. For the bookshelf she bought butterfly and flower print fabrics that were on sale and spray glued them onto cork that was cut to fit the bookshelf, she then used double sided tape to stick them up.

best buys
The bookshelf fabric, and the duvet/sham set from The Linen House that were on sale. Also the stacking boxes and wall stickers that Chantale bought 'for practically peanuts' at her old work place.

The pale candy pink walls and neatly stacked books. Bit obsessed with books.

top tips
Chantale says, "I think the best advice is to listen to your child and try not to steamroll your decorating taste over theirs. The redecorating and rearranging of the furniture was at the request of my daughter who wanted her bed in the centre of the room like a big kid. She's five now and beginning to assert herself - I wanted her room to reflect her personality, not mine.
There were some things I gently steered her away from (like Hannah Montana posters and bedding!) and encouraged creativity on (making her own wall collage of colouring pages). In the end her beaming smile and jumping up and down in her bed made all the work worthwhile!"
