Mum, Amy, resourcefully made the bunting using scrapbooking paper, spray adhesive and contact.
Another creative item - a Purl Frog in Spoonflower fabric and stuffed with lentils.
A colourful 'rainy day' handmade mobile hangs in pride of place above the cot.
Amy collected a variety of fabrics to make the embroidery hoops around the mirror and upholstered the rocking chair in fabric she designed herself.
The vibrant yellow pelmets were also handmade by Amy using Dolphin and Condor Spoonflower fabric.
Calm and crafty. Amy from the b-line is a lover of colour and texture and also has a couple of Etsy stores where she sells her handmade jewellery and photographic prints and cards.
who lives here?
Baby Graham, newborn in Michigan, USA.
Amy bought the cot linen from Carousel Designs, the mirror hanging on the wall from Target and the picture frames, lampshade, moose rocker and floor rug from Ikea.
Amy chose Benjamin Moore paint in Gray Horse (2140-50) for the walls and Pure White for the trim.
The cot came from Babies R Us and is an Amy Coe Westport Lifetime Crib. The rocking chair was a family hand-me-down that Amy reupholstered and the rest of the furniture is from Ikea; the white bookshelf/window seat is an Expedit, the baskets Pjas and the six-drawer dresser is a Malm.
Baby Graham's room is filled with a plethora of items handmade by Amy. She made the 'rainy day' mobile from felt, polyfill, and a 12 inch embroidery hoop. Spoonflower offer customers the option of designing their own fabric - Amy designed the bunting fabric seen on the frog as well as the pillow fabric with the silhouettes of the beloved family dogs, Lola and Sita. Amy also utilised Spoonflower's services to create the nursery vines fabric to reupholster the rocking chair and she cooked up the teal chevron fabric for the cot skirt and the pillows. She even made the pouf using a diy tutorial. Amy's husband also joined in the handmade effort and gave some old shelves a new lease on life by painting them deep green and painting the light switch plate to match.
Making so many of the items including reupholstering furniture and painting the walls, plus buying from Ikea brought the nursery costs way down. The bunting was constructed for under $10 USD!
baby space fave
The rainbow bunting - cheerful to look at and so cleverly constructed, as well as all the amazing fabric Amy designed at Spoonflower.
Amy says, "My plans for the room began with textiles. Early in the planning process I stumbled across, Spoonflower. I was searching for fun fabrics to use as linens as I just wasn't satisfied with what I could find in stores or online. Soon I found myself designing my own fabrics for the room and making my son's space truly one of a kind. Doing this allowed me to tailor the colours and themes to our liking - and it made the process tons of fun!"
