room for baby : a quiet corner

Sunny and a lil' pretty. Mum, Kelly Doust, is the author of The Crafty Minx and the soon to be released, The Crafty Kid. Kelly used an array of handmade items to add interest against the neutral paintwork of the Victorian-era cottage.

who lives here?
18 month-old Olive in Sydney, NSW, Australia.

The walls are painted a neutral pale grey while a soft grey hibiscus-patterned rug features on the floor.

Kelly used a second-hand atlas to make the bunting on the wall and stretched vintage tablecloth fabric over frames to make the wall display. The mobile hanging over Olive's cot is also a DIY project called The Falling Petals Mobile that features in The Crafty Kid.

The vast framed mirror is from Antikt in Surry Hills, Sydney and the wall letters were picked up at flea markets.

baby space fave
The recycled atlas bunting. There's something so whimsical about a map that's purely decorative.
